What is your family’s beverage of choice? If water is NOT one of the first choices, Healthy Kids Challenge wants you to think about what your family drinks!
Water is the #1 healthy drink, but low fat milk and 100% juice have their place too! Low fat milk is a great source of calcium for strong bones and teeth. 100% juices provide vitamin C and antioxidants for a healthy immune system. Just remember to watch the portion size of your caloric drinks as you would with the portion size of the foods you eat!
Healthy Beverage Tips for “On the Go” People
- Take bottled water with you when running errands, traveling, and when exercising.
- Enjoy low fat milk, 100% juice or water with your fast food meals.
- Bypass fruit flavored drinks for 100% fruit juice.
